Juneteenth Smudge Stick

from 15.00

Limited edition JUNETEENTH Floral Smudge Sticks are comprised of garden grown herbs, florals, eucalyptus and cotton. Juneteenth is an annual celebration in America honoring the anniversary of the emancipation of slavery; June 19th is the revered date marking when the word-of-mouth news of emancipation reached the Black masses throughout most Southern states.

Along with the cleansing and therapeutic properties of burning herbs like sage, eucalyptus, lavender and rosemary, the act of burning cotton creates a trauma-releasing ritual that commemorates the centuries of enslavement, hate, rape and injustice that our African ancestors endured in order for us, today, to personify their wildest dreams.
